Here is a story that I would like to share with you today. It helps us, to focus on the more important things in life:
A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.
The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.
The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full.. The students responded with a unanimous ‘yes.’ Continue reading
Giving is always a blessing. Especially in terms of providing value to other people. What goes around – comes around – PLUS! So sometimes, great things happen also inside your own family.
Let me share 2 short stories with you relative to our oldest son, who today is 14 years old. It is impressive how much he has embraced the principles of the Rubber Balls and the Crystal Balls already at a very early age.
It was back in 2004, when Jan was just 6 years old. I had just started working seriously on developing the circle. So I guessed he snapped some pieces here and there from all the conversations we had about our new exciting project. One afternoon, I received one of those “love-letters” from the german tax department. It showed an ugly number on it relative to the amount that I would have to pay them. Continue reading
Over the past years, I have written many articles, but this one I believe could probably become a really transformational one. If I manage to get across what I have in mind and what I see, this can be the igniting spark for transforming an entire industry and the way business is conducted there.
The industry I am talking about is the Network Marketing Industry. For all Happiness Circle friends here who are not involved and maybe not even interested in this subject – allow me to encourage you to continue reading. You will gain a much better understanding about a great industry that has been offering a performance-oriented, transparent and fair opportunity for millions of people around the globe for decades already. No other industry however had to deal with such a massive amount of mis-perceptions, interpretations and stories that have been created both in- and outside the industry, throwing a negative light on a wonderful profession. A profession – if done right and successfully – impacts all 6 aspects of The Happiness Circle positively.
What is the problem with Network Marketing?
“Every BIG thing begins with a small step” – and so it happened with The Happiness Circle.

Doing business means interacting with people, mastering relationships. Pretty simple, but most business people neglect that fact. They focus too much on the job and on the money, using people as step-stones for creating results. It should be the other way: Using businesses as a step-stone to improve relationships with people for creating the ultimate lifestyle.
That was what I started pondering on back in 2004. I figured that the business I was involved in was not just about the money – and therefore it should not be measured in financial results only. In my very first thoughts, I tried to figure out what areas in life are affected by the business I was involved in – and what aspects are generally important to a person’s life to be happy. While it is true in most cases that NO money makes you unhappy, it is false to assume that money makes you happy. An endless amount of rich, but unhappy and unfulfilled people out there is evidence enough:
Money alone can’t buy you happiness.
